FUN STORY: my grandma lives in a city that was currently taken over by drug dealers and gangs and it’s now divided in two and my grandma is the oNLY CITIZEN IN THE WHOLE CITY who can go walking freely through both sides of the town because she used to do community work and feed the poor kids and those gang members were all fed by her so they let her come and go as she wants SO WHAT WE LEARN TODAY IS TO BE FUCKING NICE TO KIDS BC U MIGHT BE DEALING W FUTURE GANG MEMBERS

Fuck ignorant dumb fucks who make it sound like serving in the military is no big deal. Fuck people who think that it’s easy and that it’s not a sacrifice. These people are ignorant fuckers. Go witness what they’ve witnessed and then tell the world how easy their job is. You have no right to dismiss their sacrifices.
Respect your service men and veterans.

Why isn’t life as surreal as it is in the story books are parents read to us when we were children? False sense of reality

The Titanoboa, is a 48ft long snake dating from around 60-58million years ago. It had a rib cage 2ft wide, allowing it to eat whole crocodiles, and surrounding the ribcage were muscles so powerful that it could crush a rhinoTitanoboa was so big it couldn’t even spend long amounts of time on land, because the force of gravity acting on it would cause it to suffocate under its own weight.

I’m so glad they aren’t around

omg me too. I’m scared enough of 26 ft long anacondas. I’m so happy Megalodons, those giant sharks, aren’t alive either

Praise natural selection

I remember watching Walking with Beasts or something similar, or some British tv show about evolution

The subject was something like a 12 foot long water scorpion

I was so startled by its sudden appearance and narration that I yelped: “12 fucking feet?!?!  I’m fucking glad it’s extinct!”

Dude, prehistory was home to some fucking TERRIFYING creatures. For some reason, everything back then was enormous and scary. Extinction doesn’t always have to be a bad thing!

And Poppy, what you saw was an arthropod known as Pterygotus (it was actually featured in Walking With Monsters). Not only was it as big (or maybe even bigger) than your average human, it had a stinger the size of a lightbulb. REALLY glad that bugger isn’t around anymore.

Also, Megalodon deserves to be mention again, because just hearing its name makes me want to never be submerged in water ever again.

One of the reasons life on earth was so large in prehistoric times is because of the concentrations of oxygen in the water and atmosphere. The more oxygen there is, the bigger things can become. Also, bigger was better then. Prey used to be small, so they started to evolve to be bigger to avoid being eaten. So when prey evolved, so did the predators.

Hello all, the target has been removed from this petition.  Because getting 50k, 75k, 100k signatures does not magically close the zoo.  We just have to keep going until we build the critical mass to close the place, until the Indonesian government listens to us.  Maybe this means millions of signatures, so let’s do it!

Please also sign the Indonesian petition.  I believe this is much more powerful than a foreign petition.  So please sign this:  http://www.change.org/petitions/menhut-segera-bertindak-selamatkan-satwa-kebun-binatang-surabaya

This place needs to be shut down, it is truly shameful.
